About this place
Makiba Style in Shibaura builds its identity around a straightforward premise: start with Pacific bluefin tuna, then move on to a hearty meat main. The signature medium-fatty bluefin cuts are sliced directly from the bone, preserving their rich, melt-in-the-mouth fat. During lunch, this premium seafood anchors popular rice bowls, including soy-marinated tuna rice bowls and a pairing of diced chutoro with fresh avocado.
The meat courses that follow are just as substantive. The collagen-rich braised pork belly bowl can be paired with fried-tofu udon or ordered in a comforting curry style. Guests can also choose from distinct poultry preparations, such as fried chicken seasoned with zesty Cajun spices or chicken nanban topped with a light snow-tartar sauce.
Lunchtime sets and donburi come complete with Makiba salad and soup, alongside convenient options like a drink bar and substitutions of brown rice for white rice. By night, the dining room transitions to casual gatherings, where diners can share plates over beer, sake, and shochu alongside full set meals.
